First Penthouse
Proving that open-plan, lateral space and fully glazed facades can be achieved in modular construction, this penthouse addition was installed fully-fitted in a single day. An eight storey apartment building constructed with a reinforced concrete frame between the wars had a shallow steel transfer grid added at roof level
A large mobile crane lifted the match-fitted parts into position and all weather-tight seams were completed before sunset.
The installation involved the minimum disruption to and impact on neighbours and the surroundings.
