Ty Hedfan

Ty Hedfan is a holiday retreat in Wales where an engineered solution for the local builder maximised the location of a sloped site bordering a river. Traditional grouted masonry walls were used to retain the clay slopes and a seven metre cantilevered living area designed to preclude footfall excitation. A simple grouted tie system restrains an eight metre high dry stone wall.
