Rivington Place Arts Centre
Gallery spaces and associated offices for two contemporary visual arts groups are organised on a confined site in the City of London. The structural design centres on the concrete load-bearing facades. The design was originally developed as an integrated pre-cast load-bearing wall element and facade panel system which then progressed into an in-situ concrete wall utilising self compacting concrete. Floors span the entire width of the building onto a system of interlocking wall elements staggered to create load-paths around the complicated fenestration patterns.
